according to the garden calender I just received from my extension agent hummingbird feeders should be put out April 25. Why? I don't really know. BTW, I live in southern WV so the climate should be the same.

Patio plants are best attractant for humming birds in southern Indiana. I dont use feeders, they come by the zillions around here. They feed on Geraniums, petunias, and the like, which are potted and high up particularly on like a column or bench height and seem to avoid ground plants due to i presume danger of a predator attacking them. I dont see many until early or mid June.
