I was bitten by an insect about a year ago near my right elbow, and a hard bump still resides where the would was. About 3 hours after I was bitten, pain in my hand set in and moved up my arm. I had not noticed the bite at this point and the pain moved up to my shoulder. It stopped there and has left a lump about 1/2". I noticed a dead small brown spider near my bed right where my elbow lies. This took place in an old apartment in Seattle. Does anyone know of any possible culprits? Thanks

All biting insects maintain even a tiny amount of venom. This is how they subdue their enemies and kill for food. As well, people all have different reactions to different types of insect bites.
So, in effect, any insect can leave a bump where they've bitten. It sounds like you had a reaction to this spider's bite.(possibly)
There are many different types of house spiders that can do this. I get the heebie jeebies just thinking of the little rotters! I was bitten in the ear canal by a house spider when I was approx. 10-11 years old and had a WICKED reaction. By the time they got me to the hospital I was going in and out of consciousness and my face and neck was covered in small, pus oozing blisters.
I even hallucinated about spiders for days and despise them to this day.

So it could be any type of insect, but most likely it was that spider you found.

what kind of bug bit you?

if it is tick, you need to see your doctor for special treatment.

if you got biten by black widow, you are required for medical attention because venom may cause severe nausea, fainting and stomach pain.

if you got biten by brown recluse, doctor will have to cut off as armpulation

you better see your doctor now. or you will get worse and doctor will doing surgery and medicine more worse.
