With baby 1 I had to be induced. But I wold like a more NATURAL experience. Can this happen with my cervix being so closed? I have been walking and was thinking about tea. Intercourse is not an option before the baby comes. Any advice would be appreciated!

As long as the baby isn't under stress I don't see any reason you can't wait it out a while longer. How strong are the contractions? Are you talking about regular and intense contractions or just one or two a day type contractions? Lots of people are of the belief that a baby will come when a baby is ready to come and medical intervention isn't necessary so early-on in most cases. A lot of women feel rushed by their OB to go ahead and induce when in lots of instances, there is no need to do so if the baby is not under stress and mom is happy and healthy. My personal advice...rather than trying all of the old wives tales about climbing stairs, eating hot foods, etc.... is to relax. Enjoy these last remaining days (dare I say weeks?!) with your beautiful baby inside your warm, comfortable, safe womb. All good things...!

At 36 weeks, you need not worry about this. Just relax - some 10% of babies arrive right on their due date and even a greater percentage at 2-3 days before or after. Don't do anything to bring it on other than simple walking. Baby will come when he or she is ready and usually closer to your due date than you are - with my last pregnancy my cervix was closed tight till nearly the end and I was only 1 cm the day before the baby came out! The more babies you have - the faster it tends to happen all at once. So don't get cocky and do anything risky thinking baby isn't coming out. The grand majority of the time with consecutive babies - induction will not be necessary. Walking daily is a good thing and doing regular activities as much as possible. If you hear from people about the stimulating the nipples for 3 hrs thing the books I've read said that is risky in that it can cause very painful contractions that may not lead to the dilation of the cervix - so drastic measures like that - you're better off avoiding it.
