Apparently, all that's been released about what is coming next for the Sims 2 pc is info about a stuff pack - the Celebration Stuff pack - which of course, isn't an expansion.

Though of course, they'll be releasing the next two bits of the Sims Life Stories over the next few months - Pets & Castaway (so whether or not we'll get a Castaway version for main game?? who knows)

I think it's too soon for the general public to know seeing as they just released "Seasons". I read in an article a while back that they intended to make 7 expansions, like the original Sims, although that could be outdated information. But I'm going to guess there will be a few more untill we get closer to the predicted date of the "unoffical" Sims 3. If they are, teaser info should be available in the next few months, if trend continues.

I haven't heard anything yet for the upcoming expansion packs. I believe it will take 5 - 7 months before the next EP will come out. But from what I know, the next EP would be patterned to a Sims 1 EP. The Sims 2 EPs follow a sequence in making new gameplays. Odd numbers like 1,3,5,7 offers new idea to players. (like the university, OFB, seasons) which were the 1st, 3rd, and 5th EP respectively. The even numbered expansion packs were based on previous Sims 1 Expansion pack.
Hot Date-Nightlife (2nd)
Unleashed-Pets (4th)
So, the next possible Expansion Pack maybe patterned to the previous Sims 1 EP. Not quite sure, but I think it would be. =p

I believe it's Celebrations. In Celebrations, you get more items for throwing any kind of party. Like a Wedding Party, Birthday Party, etc.
