trying to start my own Manga, need to know where to start and where to send finished work to get published

For a person in America, honestly the easiest way I think is to get in good with the publishers Tokyopop. They hold a contest nearly every year and their favourite series get published! Series such as I Luv Halloween, DramaCon and some others that I currently forget the name of... something about a ferret...
Anyways, the point is, they are really open to the idea of expanding manga to the American market. You send in a short comic (usually fully screentoned, inked, lettered, etc.).
Other than that, I'm not really sure myself, so I'm just telling you what I have heard from a dabbling artist and manga fanatic. ^^

go to you local library the have tons of books on how to get started and when your finished the best place to find a place is to call the childrens book center in toronto they will send you information on where you can send it
