I'm sure that you're not the only one who's been asking Nintendo that question.

Yes, there is a shortage of Wii, so that's why you haven't been able to get one. Could be several reason why there aren't any Wii's available. 1. Nintendo is only shipping a small amount of Wii to stores on a regular basis. 2. Nintendo is shipping it's normal # of Wii per week, and the demand is so high that as soon as it's available, people are picking it up. 3. Nintendo hasn't shipped any Wii for the past few weeks. Just remember that Nintendo has launched in several countries, so it's hard for to keep everyone from every country satisfied. There are only so many Wii made per week, so Nintendo might not be distributing them to the US in large numbers in order to satisfy gamers from Japan, Europe, etc.

I doubt you'll get anything except a canned response from Nintendo Power. As far as I know, the Wii units are still in short supply, due to the overwhelming demand and possibly a failure on their part to produce enough units.

However, I got one recently by going to my local game store every day for about a week. I managed to get there on the day they got a shipment and there you go. Other than that, I don't think there's any secret way to get a Wii until the supply increases

Dont worry just keep checking the stores I had to pay about a hundred extra dollars to get my just wait. After that though just to let you know the next problem is going to be getting extra controlls so my advice in the mean time since you know you are getting one buy stuff for it. To be honest though I would hold off anyway right now its just a zelda machine no other cool games for the wii but if you like old school it has alot of virtual console games that are good I hear.

Your best bet for getting one of these is luck or patience. If you're using a big impersonal chain like Wal-Mart, Best Buy or other's like it, try to find out when the shipments of games arrive and be shortly thereafter. For smaller game shops, be friendly with the staff and they'll tell you their shipment days, and you can be there when the shipment arrives. If you are good enough friends, maybe they'll break open the shippment for you then. ;)

Yes, there's a shortage. Where are you at? I know that there's a Blockbuster in Torrance, CA that has it.
