Hi! It depends. I had 3 boys and 1 girl and they were all different. Boys tend to eat more. By 4 weeks, I called my Italian grandma and asked her what to do. She said make a cross with a razor blade on the to of a nipple and mix baby rice cereal (1 tablespoon ) to his formula. If that doesn't work, make it more thick. It worked for my kids and they grew to adulthood very slim. Good luck to you!

The doctor started my baby with 2 oz. I was also breastfeeding after she was done I would give her the 2 oz milk. You would know if hes eating too much when he starts spitting up a lot.

my 4 week old son eats 6 oz every 3 hours.....they technically "need" 2.5 oz of formula (50 calories) per pound of body weight if they are solely formula fed..mine sleeps a little longer at nighttime and goes around 4-5 hours without eating...so he eats aroudn 36 oz a day when he only needs 28 at his weight...but the doctor says hes fine hell stop when hes full.
