Would a cortisone injection be a good remedy for back spasms?

As the last remedy, I would say. Try massage, or acupuncture first.

Try a massage first, or a heating pad. Cortisone should be used if everything else doesn't work.

you might try benedril it's a muscle relaxant and over the counter...
