I have bred guppies for many years and I found that they just eat the normal fish food which their parents consume.

With most fry I'd said no, but live bearers like guppy are rather large compared to most aquarium fish. Grinding flakes between your fingers will work, as will freeze dried brine shrimp. Adult guppy like a bit more plant matter than the fry which need more protein.

I feed my platy fry crushed up flake food and they're doing very well so I would suggest that to you. What I do is put some flake food in a little baggie and then crush it up so I don't waste any and now its already in a little bag to store it in. You could also try hatching some brine shrimp to give them. Throwing in live food to any fishes diet is always a good idea.
