Castor Oil! I was 3 days late and due on October 5th. I took half a dose at 11pm on the 7th, went to bed then woke up with contractions a little less than 1 minute apart at 3am on the 8th. That was just 4 hours later! Don't taste like anything, but it is really slimy going down. Buy it at Wal-mart for about $3. It's an old wive's tale, but I do not believe that. I should've done this weeks before. My Son was 9lbs. 9ozs. and he barely came out natural. Please don't do this if you are really not ready. Good luck though and God Bless You.

Hopefully the baby will wait another 4 weeks. 40 weeks is the best. Walking is what is recommended and works well. You might be having what they call "False Labor". If your mucus plug hasn't shown up yet or your water hasn't broken, that is a sure sign that you are not ready. I had it about the same time with my second child. It was really frustrating, as I would go to the hospital and then they would stop. If your contractions don't stop, your water breaks or your plug appears, call your doctor and they will inform you what to do.
BTW, Congratulations!

If I were you I would NOT try to speed the process. The last few weeks the baby is in utero are very important. He/she will gain body fat needed to keep their body temperatures up and develope the sucking mechanisms. Also, if your baby could have trouble breathing and/or nursing on his/her own if you were to give birth at 36wks. After 37 weeks is considered full term, but the longer the baby stays in the better for the baby....especially if you are having a boy, because their lungs develope a bit later. Please just try to relax and let nature take it course. Congrats and Good luck to you!

Absolutely nothing unless your doctor gives you something to cause labor to start. You will find people who will tell you that riding a horse, taking a hot bath, having sex, eating laxatives, etc., etc., etc., will cause birth. But, when all is said and done, that baby will be born just about the time the good Lord sees fit! So, please just relax and let it happen.....Good luck and God bless!
