My co-worker invited me to a small get-together and later I found out one of our clients is going to be there (this was shocking to me cause I think she's dating him), but I was asked not to say anything to the bosses. I already RSVP'd and feel awkward running into the client and having to keep a secret. My job is more important.. What do I do?

By they way, I'm close to the bosses, I've been there for 15 years

If the co-worker isn't supposed to be dating the clients, then your duty is clear.

Ask your boss to keep it confidential, but honestly ... you should look out for yourself here as well. If your boss finds out about the whole thing ... and finds out that you knew as well ... your rear is on the heat as well.

Your co-worker made their choice, and will have to deal with the consequences.

Unless the comp[any has a strict policy about socializing with clients I don't see a problem. If the client is married and they are having an affair then there is a problem but if they are both single I see nothing wrong with it. One of my nurses met her boyfriend while she was attending to the family during his grandfather's death. I have no problem with that as both are grown adults and it does not negatively affect our business.

Don't go if you are going to feel awkward about it, just say something came up at home and you couldn't make it.
It's not your problem if she gets found out so don't get involved

Tell your friend you won't be attending. You are brown-nosing the bosses that night.

Do not attend, the less you know is better for you. It is not your problem.
