Yes, I remember getting paid to listen to those boring c.d. tutorials. I was 15 years old at the time and it beat cashiering or pushing carts back in 1996.

I hope I never do that again or find myself working in that place ever again.

HELL MART!!

yes it is paid training, but it's not the full days pay. cause trust me you don't want to sit through 8 or 9 hours of that crap, it's boring as hell. when I was hired by them it was a do at my own pace training, all on the computer, so you pick your pace, after you do your initial orientation with the Human resources person. Then you just go in when you can, but they have probably already set a date for you to be completed by. Which means that "ALL" of the training has to be done by that date, or you'll start loosing shifts and that's monies!!! The training is really simple and self explanatory, it's a lot of boring videos about the history of walmart etc. and slide shows on the computer that are almost at your own pace. It's not too bad, walmart is probably one of the best places to work, simple job, good pay, descent benefits and usually a really laid back work environment that pushes you just hard enough to keep the job interesting so you don't get bored on the job.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy your experience.
