Who told you that he is best ?
He was choosen for WC 2007 to make the record of being a part of WC team for 5th time.
Beside that India have a great chance of beating Bangladesh with Sachin as the hero against all poor teams.
How many runs he have scored against Australia and kenya ?
How many runs he have scored in WC and what is highest and against whom in WC ?
Answer will be kenya.
Why he was not choosen CAPTION ??????????????
If its captain then take it granted from me that he is not capable of scoring a single hundred in this WC.

Sachin is one of its kind, during his entry, almost cricket was a slow game, with exceptionals like Viv.
But Sachin proved both in terms of classical and as a blaster and that's why he is still best.
He was disproven as a captain bcos the team was totally drowning during his captaincy, and pressure piled up on him so that he cannot concentrate on his part alone

The reason is simple. Check records and he has been the worst ever captain India has ever had. A lot of people attribute the poor record to match fixing during his tenure. But that is a lame excuse. He shoud have kept his team in check in that case. Plus both Azharuddin and Ganguly, who were before and after him had the best captaincy records.
Tendulkar, might be a great player, but captaincy is not his cup of tea.

No doubt Sachin is best Player in world of Cricket. But dear he can play only if he feels relax. Captaincy would put extra pressure and responsiblities on his shoulder, which will divert his mind from his batting. Let him play without any extra pressure. He can deliver his best when he is not in pressure.

Sachin is best -compare his stats with any present time cricketer.Sachin is not captain only because he has selected batting over team administration.

Technical knowhow is other thing & Leadership is a different. Sachin has not leadership tacts enough to be a captain. He himself will accept this.
