im looking for a purple polo/shirt. not a lavender purple but more of a darker one. around a violet shade

If you mean literally a purple Polo (by Ralph Lauren) shirt, I bet you can find one at Loehmann's on La Cienega, just south of the Beverly Center. They usually have a good selection of lots of polo shirts in different colors (I know I saw purple ones when I bought my black one).

Go to the gift store in one of the Yahoo! offices in LA (one in Burbank, one in Santa Monica). It's like a Banana Republic except that everything is purple (Yahoo's official colors). You'll have to put up with a little Yahoo! logo, but that's not so bad, is it? :-)
(You might also be able to buy Yahoo purple shirts online)

Dillards had some out today here in Texas....they are putting them out for easter. It was in the expensive part of the mens section. Goodluck.
