To be honest, I don't find the games I played when I was a kid (Monopoly, Life, Clue, etc.) interesting anymore. I lost interest in them when I discovered the newer crop of games coming out of Europe. I have a boardgame group that meets weekly and my favorites are Settlers of Catan (simple rules, good mix of strategy and luck) and Power Grid (more complex, very good game). There are tons of others, but those are at the top right now.

the best boardgame ever is called loopin louie!
What you have to do, is stop Loopin' Louie scaring chickens off your barn by furiously walloping a plastic lever!
[Loopin' Louie is a plastic plane attatched to the end of a battery powered rotating arm]
Each player controls a lever, which is used to bash the out-of-control plane away from the chickens balancing on their barn roof. The last player with any chips (sorry, chickens) remaining wins. Simple as that.
Awesome fun and incredibly addictive!

it is not continuously a undesirable theory. i might classify your attitude with the whole existence coverage to be very conservative, yet no longer a undesirable theory. the reason I say this is with the help of the fact the whole existence coverage would not have the final returns and isn't any longer the main inexpensive thank you to insure your existence, even though it nonetheless provides constructive returns and provides existence coverage protection for existence. some might say undesirable theory or waste of money yet i might only say extra conservative or maybe overly conservative. somebody like Dave Ramsey might say purchase term and positioned money into mutual money using fact entire existence coverage is a ripoff. optimistic mutual money have a greater anticipated return than entire existence coverage yet there is likewise extra danger. optimistic term coverage is extra low fee, however the coverage ends at a undeniable element. That being mentioned, I very own term existence coverage and positioned money into mutual money yet i will have extra of a danger tolerance in the direction of making an investment than you.

I no longer play any of the games I played as a kid (except the occasional game of chess); I'm now into Eurogames, which have more interesting decisions to make and generally have less luck.
Some good ones are Puerto Rico, That's My Fish, Clans, Power Grid, Goa...

I'd have to say a game called "Careers." It was by Parker Brothers. I don't see it around anymore, but I really enjoyed playing it as a kid. Unlike Monopoly and the Game of Life, you didn't really know who was going to win until the end. Thus, you stayed interested until the end. I mean, who doesn't always want to have the possibility of winning?

The game of life was entertaining, how if you got a bad roll in the begining, you would have some crap job, lol. Then at the end having 4 cars of kid's following you, and practically bankrupt.

Talisman - I liked it because the board was different every time. It was like D&D simplified. It's being reissued again and the sample I saw at Toy Fair looked more like the original that the last reissue - very encouraging.

I have to say Settlers of Cataan. It's a very entertaining and intelligent game, fun for multiple players. It involves strategy much more than more standard board games.
