Commercials are made to appeal to demographics. If people feel they're represented in an ad, they may be more willing to buy the product.
It's not about being PC, it's about selling product.

It's really very simple. There is no majority.
Even on a commercial with a single white anglo-saxon male acting as a spokesperson, and they're everywhere, there is one hundred percent minority content.
If you are talking about VISIBLE minorities, it has to do with market share. In advertising, market share is everything.

Yes. Is it some FCC rule or something? No. It's a marketing attempt to try and reflect "real society." So it depends on how you look at it. To the audience it can look like a cheap ploy to appease everybody. To the actors in these it's a job that is frustrating to get and deal with once you do (typecasting). Once the white power elite loses that power and society becomes really fair for a change then and only then will that be reflected onscreen.

Because we're about 30% of the population! And that means we're about 30% of the market for consumer goods and we make up about 30% of the nation's professional actors!
What's the matter - have a problem with seeing Black people in toothpaste ads? Or Mexicans selling you cars? Or Indians in computer commercials?

the world is filled with minorities
why should they not be represented in the media?
there's almost always a token minority
why do you ask this question does it bother you?

i dont know if theres one for EVERY commercial, but its probably so that people dont complain. you know if it only had white people on there, we would be asking why they dont have at least one minority.

Because we are trying to give our country away and we are showing who we want to give it to. Letting them know that if they want it we will give it to them. In some cases we want to act like them.
