There is not a lot of informations to go from. You do not give the context about the reasons why your friend might be mad at you. Perhaps you might feel guilty about something you said or done to your friend and feel sorry. Then the best thing would be to have an honest and open conversation together in order to clarify the situation. You might be asking yourself this question about your friend and he actually does not even think of being mad at you.
Keep it simple and the two of you might save your friendship because after talking together you might find out there was no reason for concern.
