Violent Femmes "Blister in the Sun"

In 2005, it became the first English language track to ever be allowed on RnaG, the Republic of Ireland Irish language radio station. The song is also featured on the soundtrack of the 1997 film Grosse Pointe Blank with John Cusack. The instrumental version was used in the 2006 film The Benchwarmers. Although many think an instrumental version of the song was used as the theme song for the first season of Two Guys and a Girl (known then as Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place), that song was in fact an original composition. Also this song was used to market the USA Network television show Psych.

In 2005, it was voted the Most Essential Song of all time by Australian radio station Triple M.

In early 2007, the song was used in a commercial for Wendy's Restaurants.

Lyrics;

When I'm out walking I strut my stuff
Yeah and I'm so strung out
I'm high as a kite and I just might
Stop to check you out

Let me go on
Like a blister in the sun
Let me go on
Big hands I know you're the one

Body in beads I stain my sheets
I don't even know why
My girlfriend she's at the end
She is starting to cry

Let me go on
Like a blister in the sun
Let me go on
Big hands I know you're the one

Whisper:
When I'm out walking, I strut my stuff, yeah an' I'm so strung out
I'm high as a kite, I just might, stop to check you out
When I'm out walking, I strut my stuff, yeah an' I'm so strung out
I'm high as a kite, I just might, stop to check you out
Body in beads, I stain my sheets, I don't even know why
My girlfriend, she's at the end, she is starting to cry
When I'm out walking, I strut my stuff, yeah an' I'm so strung out
I'm high as a kite, I just might, stop to check you out

Let me go on
Like a blister in the sun
Let me go on
Big hands I know you're the one
