Subaru of America is VERY picky about mods. With that being said they can't legally void your warranty unless the mod you do specifically causes a failure. If you put an exhaust on they can't void the warranty of the windshield wipers, but they sure can void the warranty on the motor and tranny if they feel like it(look up the Magnuson-Moss Warrant Act). I'd check with your dealer first, some are complete arses, like Stevens Creek Subaru by me, and some are very mod friendly, like Subaru of Santa Cruz, it all depends on how they run their business. The easiest mod to do is an Accessport, which is an ECU remap(Ecutek doesn't support 07s as a previous poster mentioned). With only an accessport you'll notice a much smoother power and some of the flat spots are cleaned up a lot giving you a strong linear power band. The dyno here is for an 06 http://www.cobbtuning.com/products/?id=2304 which is the same as the 07. You'll notice peak HP isn't significantly increased, but there are substantial gains in some places of the power band. The other bonus of an accessport is it is easily removed and the dealer can never tell it was there(simply plug it in to the odb2 port, flash the stock map, then select unmarry and in less than 10 minutes you're bone stock again).

Getting a turbo back exhaust is by far the best bang for the buck with a scoobie, a turbo back and an ECU remap, also referred to as stage 2 by many vendors, is where the boxer really comes alive. Take a peek at the dyno here http://www.cobbtuning.com/products/?id=2315 You'll see the turbo comes on MUCH sooner and carries it out for some mean increases. I was amazed when I did a turbo back and protune(an Accessport with a custom map made by a professional tuner) on my STi. As I said though, a turbo back can void the motor and transmission warranty depending on the dealer, so I'd really talk to the service manager at your dealer before you get started.

Stock intercooler is fine for the stock turbo, there's no need to upgrade. Also installing an FMIC requires either cutting the bumper beam or using a JDM bumper beam, it also requires a short ram intake which will give you a wonky idle unless you have the car tuned for it, and there is no mod that will more quickly say "I'm modified" to the dealer or the police. It is also pretty time consuming to install. It took me a few hours to get my APS FMIC on my STi, where as I can get the turbo back off in about an hour.

Good luck.

I'm curious if the nippleheads that give thumbs down own subarus, mod subarus, or have even dealt with SOA. Oh well, petty trolls.

Anything you add to the engine or exhaust That is not approved by Subaru will void your warranty. The best thing to do is call Subaru head office they will tell you, and have then send it to you in writing. Don't ask the dealer, some of them just want to sell their aftermarket stuff

Check with manufacture, My freind had a 2004 wrx and he put on aftermarket exhaust and an shifter knob and when his trans. webt they wouldn't honor the warraty because of that, so ask them first to be safe man.

raising the boost pressure is good enough.. try to get your hands on ECUTEK computers for wrx.. much-much better

front mount intercooler upgrade is not too good..if your running on a stock i.h.i turbos.. (slightly turbo lag)

Add exhaus components like larger up and downpipes and cat & other exhaust piping. Turbo cars react well when you increase the exhaust diameter.
