My teen daughter had a baby. The father is not on the birth certificate and has never seen the child nor made an attempt to see the baby... We would like to make it as hard as possible for him or his family to see the baby... Does anyone have any legal advise?

get a lawyer but if the father is not a real bad guy, drugs abusive stuff like that there is not much you can do if he wants visitation. a lawyer will tell you what you can legally do. that baby will someday want to see it's other family and you need to be prepared for this. you don't want the baby to dislike you when it is older because you stopped him from knowing the other part of his family.

Perhaps the opposite strategy works better for your objective.

Inform the father and his parents (if he is still a dependent) so you can push for several things:

1. Make the father do the DNA, If proven, make him responsible for child support. The court order of child support will be on his head for 18 years until the kid grows up whether he has money now or not.

2. See if it is possible that to charge him with statutory rape (depends on his age) because your daughter was a minor, consensual or not. That should scare the heck out of him and the family. And frankly, you owe it to yourself and your daughter to punish the guy.

With all these financial and criminal issues surrounding him and his family, you can probably gain an upper hand towards your own objectives.

You don't have to do too much to prevent them from seeing the baby. Unless he's willing to give DNA for ownership as the father, then he nor his family can make any demands on the baby unless your daughter says different. She's still the one in charge of her child's life.

Why would they not choose the father interior the youngster's existence. Its basic, you supply guardianship interior the condition you get visitation rights. you have greater rights to the toddler than every physique else does.

Yea, don't do that. He is the father and has a right, so do the child's grandparents. I can't believe how selfish you are!
