Believe it are not the United States was founded on Christian beliefs. Even though everyone has the right to worship how they please, most of our laws come from the Bible in some way. So you can never really separate church and state, because it has been together since the founding of this nation.

I believe gays can be accepted as human beings, but their lifestyle will never be respected by those who claim to be real Christians. For example a good friend of my family he just happens to be gay. Overall he's a good person and there's nothing that I wouldn't do to help him out. But when starts to discuss his relationship with his boyfriend, I just shut all that out. I can't tolerate it, because I'm a Christian. I don't hate him, but I can't respect the action. I feel the same way about adultery, murder, rape or anything else the Bible speaks against.

What gays and their supporters fail to realize, Christians aren't preaching hate. But we are obligated like the Bible says to spread the word. But only homosexuals can chose to change or not. And there just happens to be more Christians in this country, than any other religion or atheists combined. Therefore it won't be accepted.

You never did specify what country you're in, but anyways intolerance of homosexuals stems from a conflict with the religous beliefs of the majority. For instance, Christianity is dominant in the US and UK, homos often face persecution. Thailand, where Christianity isn't the main religion, homosexuality is widely accepted.

I honestly don't know. I accept them...they're just people like everyone else. But unfortunately I think a lot of people are still close minded and want to let those in power and the media decide for them what should be accepted or not.

Since the beginning of time its been a man and a woman, you cant expect to be a homosexual and get accepted that easy. Its just not normal no matter what excuse you have.

there afraid... its different. but there are some out there that dont mind it. if thats what you chose to be then dont worry about being excepted fight to make it excepted but just dont try to recuit, i guess there being close minded and are thinking off it as a sickness a mental illness as it once was thought that the choose was in your head not coming from the heart. people think that it a surway to go to hell. i believe god made us all unique and we are not to hide it. be scared because of it or change just so society will allow you to blend with the other nameless people walking around doing nothing.

Becuase the Religious Right is trying to do away with the separation of Church and State.

Our fore fathers thought it was important, but evidently our government now believes we're better than they were.

We have too many people who care too much about running everyone's life instead of running their own. If most people would realize that it really doesn't affect them that much if their neighbor, co-worker, friend, whoever is gay then possible gays could be free to live an average life like everyone else. People try to put their beliefs and values on other peole when they should only be concerned about themselves.
