I believe that this was altered. I went on search engine and found an article that was similar to what was sent on an email. Check out this website and compare to what was sent on an email. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinbad_(actor)
You will see that someone with nothing better to do than to alter an original article. Thanks.

Someone is sending a link to a Wikipedia page that looks suspicious. When you click on the attached link, you get the story about his death. But if you do a search on Wikipedia, there is no story about his death.

The alledged story reads: "Sinbad, born David Adkins (November 10, 1956 - March, 14, 2007) was an American stand-up comedian and actor. He became known in the late 1980s and 1990s, appearing on several television series and starring in the feature films Houseguest (1995), First Kid and Jingle All the Way (both 1996). I really doubt that he is dead! I have checked everywhere and there is no mention of his death aside from here. The question was posted on the 12th, then some people say he died on the 14th and then another person says he died on the 15th. It doesn't make sense that you cannot find and official word about this comedic icon. As for the comments that his career is dead? Oh....ha, ha, he, he! I am sure that Sinbad and his family are doing just fine, and are not hurting for money! Maybe his career didn't die, maybe he just RETIRED, and he is at home relaxing in his plush home living off residual checks that his talent and humor has earned! Sinbad talented/gifted athlete, actor and comedian and his clean style of humor is not appreciated by ignorant folks because he won't curse or say the N word. You sound like a fool saying that his career died! I've seen all of his movies and almost everything that he has done on television. Why don't you post your movie/television bio and bank statement up here and see if it is even comparable to his! I bet your bio isn't on top blacks in entertainment!

Sinbad is not dead, and for the smart asses, neither is his career. Just because you don't see him in the movies or on TV a lot anymore, doesn't mean he's floundering. Performers would kill to have had a fraction of his succes in those areas. His "thing" has always been stand up comedy. He is a regular in Las Vegas and many other top venues, and is still getting fat paychecks from residuals - that's why , much as Whoopie Goldberg did, when the iron was hot, he took every opportunity he could get his hands on.

He probably doesn't need to work again a day in his life. Like Jay Leno does, Sinbad still tours the small comedy store circuits for the love of the craft. We need more comics that don't cop out to the easy profanity laced gutter humor for success.

Wikipedia Hoax: Comedian Sinbad Is Dead

The emails started coming in early this morning, headers blaring "Sinbad, the comedian, died today, heart attack." Attached was an excerpt from the freshly-revised Wikipedia entry on the 50-year-old entertainer, born David Adkins on November 10, 1956, which contained the sentence, "He succumbed to a fatal heart attack on the morning of March, 14, 2007."

It is a hoax. The revision history of the Wikipedia article shows that it was repeatedly vandalized, corrected, and vandalized again beginning on March 14 and continuing until it was closed to further editing by unregistered users 24 hours later.

I have spoken with a representative at Sinbad's production company, David & Goliath Productions, who said that Sinbad is alive and well, and any rumor to the contrary is a hoax.

Sinbad is not dead. The Wikipedia entry was a hoax. The page was vandalized more than once and has been locked from editing by new or unregistered users (the most likely hackers).

Until some other group verifies the claim, Sinbad is ALIVE.

Well, after twenty-four hours of conjecture and rumors, the horrible news we’ve dreaded has finally come to pass. That’s right—the rumor that beloved American comedy icon Sinbad is dead… is dead:

Despite rumors that comedian/actor Sinbad died in March 2007, the 50-year-old entertainer is alive and well. The misinformation that he passed away from a heart attack was merely part of a prank spread through a phony on-line biographic entry.

So although our cherished rumor has passed on, those of us left behind have a solemn duty to carry on with our lives, remembering the good times we had with the rumor, not its sad demise. For I believe the rumor would want us not to mourn, but to live joyously in the knowledge that it has moved on to a happier place, where the sun is always shining and Sinbad is always dead.

Goodnight, Sweet Prince.

Sinbad is not dead. And neither is his career. He will be appearing on a cruise to Bermuda in October and he was in some recent projects; some that were already listed here.

C'mon people use your brains and learn to vet out rumors. If CNN, Newsweek, MSNBC, EOnline, Variety and other credible news agencies didn't report his death, why would you believe such B.S.?

This is exactly why such bullcrap websites like the one that started the rumor exist; because people do not go and check for themselves.

Just follow this one simple rule: if the entertainment media such as Variety or Eonline, the Associated Press, Reuters, CNN or any other news media website or service didn't report the death, nine times out of ten the story is as false as that seven dollar bill you have in your back pocket.

I think it's a hoax. Can't find any information confirming an email from one of my family members, that was forwarded, which said he was dead. I believe it's just his career that's dead. Wouldn't something like this be on the news or on Entertainment Tonight or something? I checked Snopes, but could find nothing when I did a search for Sinbad.
