I would say it would be okay to wash in the washing machine as long as you use delicate cycle on a very short time, if you have done this before with good results then it would be fine to do so with Sears clothes, I have always bought Sears clothes myself and have had very good results in washing them anyway either in washer or hand wash, but I am careful not to use the dryer on these types of fabrics that are hand wash only as they could shrink, I have had that happen to me before from any store. I also have found that washing these types of cold water wash by hand only garments are best washed in Baby shampoo I usually use about a 1/4 cup of baby shampoo, baby shampoo will make it come out soft and smelling really clean and it is gentle to wash clothes in of any type, you will be surprised when you try it.

if you do end up buying the shirt, use the most delicate/gentle cycle on your machine. and also use cold water. my washing machine has a hand wash cycle so that helps a lot. if yours does then use it. another tip would be to wash it by itself and use minimal detergeant and let it hang dry, unless the washing instructions say to dry it. hope this helps!

As long as the garment doesn't say dry clean only, you can put it in the washer. Wash on delicate with cold water. Trust me, I've been doing it for years. I don't have time to hand wash anything.

I never hand wash anything. If it says "handwash only" then I just wash it by itself on the gentle cycle in cold water. I have never had a problem with anything before so you should be ok.

Yeah, get one of those mesh zippered bags (usually sold for lingerie) and wash it on gentle. The bag keep your cloths from getting roughed up by the agitator. I've done it with knit items before and they have come out good as new, only cleaner.

I believe that many knit articles will lose their shape when washed in a machine. I also believe that the looser the knit, the more likely it is to lose its shape. A tight knit should be fine.
