In no particular order:

The Blair Witch Project.
Gummo.
The Squid and the Whale.

[I believe the above represent a great diversity in the cinematic greatness which has presented itself in the last two decades (at least in the case of American cinema). The Blair Witch Project presented me with an experience of perfect absurdity and terrorized confusion. In amazing brilliance, the imagination of the audience becomes the monster in the most realistic portrayal of horror in recent memory. Gummo presents us with a startling, but hilarious, vision of experimental film making. Part mockumentary, part drama, part comedy, part artistic experimentation, Korrine writes us a poem and plays us a song, and these are the perfect pictures to go along. The Squid and the Whale brought realism and haunting relate-ability to a tried Anderson set-up. The characters cry out from the screen, and we hear them. A perfect parable to the problems associated with old love, intellectual snobbery, and the tired child victims.]
