Why is it that black people can insult with racial slurs such as cracker, honkey, or q-tip, but if I insult a black man it is considered racist?

Also why do SOME black folks still fall back on the slavery card? I could understand it in the 60s' but shouldn't the ultimate display of equality be indifference towards one another?

(I mean a white guy winning a gold medal be celebrated the same as a black man or a woman winning the same medal, where their race or gender is not part of the celebration. Not because it is wrong, but because race and gender do not matter when it comes to ability to perform.)

Don't be angry? That is the kind of thing I'm talking about. My skin is tan, but since I live in Nebraska I am black to them! It is so lame. I am 25% black, but that doesn't mean anything to EITHER race. White convenience store clerks act like I'm about to rob the place, black ones think I am going to get angry because they carded me. It is completely frigging ridiculous who cares about stupid *** color!

kyle I can respect that. Also I did add SOME for a reason. I thought capitol letters might make it stick out more, but I guess it doesn't really matter.

Further more your damn right I expect you to be up to par with everyone else. You are an individual not a black man! I am an individual. And as individuals it is our duty, our responsibility to live as if we are equal. If someone harasses you because of a damn license plate screw through it back at them who cares about jail. Your voice and everyone else's wont matter if it isn't used.

What about poverty discrimination? I'm poor, so people look down on me. I get stopped in the street when I am walking because the damn cop thinks I'm out robbing people because of how I'm dressed. I'll be damned if he tries to pull anything I have just as many rights as he does, and so do you.

Peace for now

First off, learn your history. in 110years you expect an entire race to be up to par with other races that have roots, and lineage of 500-1000 years? Lets think, my great grandmother was a slave, my grandmother was born in 1920, first generation, of free people in my family, durring the depression, and large ammounts of racism, she had a daughter in 1954, that was my mother, first generation to have full rights (from birth), i was born in 1980, (first to have rights, and opportunity), yet you expect me to be up to par with my White counterpart? My grandmother was considered Wealthy and "upity" because she worked at the post office and delivered mail, my mother worked with angela davis, and was a black activist, she also fell into the drug swarm of the 70's which was used to remove the blacks untill it spread into the white communities, and of course the 80's and drugs were bad. So i am the first generation of my family to have anything. No help from my parents, no car at 16, (bought one myself at 17). My life at best is equiv to an immigrant from over seas with no family to go back to. That is why people use the "slavery card". You act like it's a "emotional" tie, it's not, it is aknowledging that i am not ABLE to do as others, and not of my own choice, but i am judged by the standards of the people who can. And please dont give everyone the crap about being racially abused. It's power in numbers, If i go to an all white neighborhood, i hear ******, i get pointed at, Hell i 50% of the time get arrested, from anything from a missing screw on my liscense plate, to causing a disruption because i asked someone not to make racial slurs in my presence. Your ignorance on your own race will doom you to always feel belittled. If you want to know the true sterotypes of blacks, They are strong willed, tolerant, and helpful. I've introduced many white suburbanites to black culture, in Detroit, in the ghetto. And every one, 100% of them were totally envyous of the bonds the families have. The strength of community. The ability to endure, and still strive forward. So please, look around, read a book, and god sakes man, learn your roots.

I agree with you ..... it should be complete equality but we don't live in a perfect world and there are no perfect people in it. In the same way that some will never give up racism there are many that choose to remain a victim of it. All people are different and should be considered for what they believe and how they live as an individual ( not meaning materialistically ). We will never overcome racism because too many people , be it bully or victim readily embrace it . very sad !

What's so funny to me is that when people are asking these "race" questions it's always "why do blacks" and "why do whites" and it's not ALL black people and it's not ALL white people. Some people do things from a certain race and then all of a sudden it's everybody from that race, that's just crazy to me, some of you people have too much time on your hands, to pay attention to people so much and what they do, why do you care? We are ALL God's children so it don't matter!!!

I know I'll get some thumbs down for that last one, that's cool

I gotta say.. you know different blacks than I do!

My sister in law has never played any of these cards. Nor have her children. Nor has a dear friend from the caribbean. I have friends of all races and I have never heard them play that card.

What I have heard plenty of times is the Holocaust card. Yet never from any of the many gypsies I know who lost family. I hear that most from friends of zionism. That card has been played for political gain for awhile now.

It's still racist if a black person uses "cracker, honkey, or q-tip." I'm not (Anglo) white, but if I was called that I'll called them a racist and talk to human resources.

You can also say "That's our word, you don't have the right to use our word."

Also, if they used that word among themselves, what can you do about it?

I lot of people care about color. Obviously you do too. You clearly have some esteem issues. Being 25% black has made it difficult for you to be surface racist. Just do the undercover thing like most scary cats do. I feel the sorriest for you.

Slavery was good to the us, where would be be without the "free labour" we had back in the good ol days. Today the real boost is in China since they have cheap labour. Dont be mad black people, you helped to build this nation, maybe we should go back to the old system?
