An asteroid is NOT going to slam into the Earth, or at least not one that they have detected. If someone found out that an asteroid was even going to come remotely close to the Earth, it would be all over the news.

The next dangerous asteroid will come near the earth in 877 years. I think I'm okay with that.

The answer to that is equivalent to the current population of earth at impact. Considering you can't do jack about it. Or at least not at this time.

I doubt anyone is. It's been much to hard to obtain any real estate on Mount Everest for when that big tsunami hits. No one's selling.
