An Absolute terrible job by the selection committee, Illinois ?, Purdue ?, Stanford ?, Arkansas !? No Way these teams should be in ahead of Syracuse, Drexel, Air Force and K-State, 22 wins overall, 10 in the big east ! EXPLAIN THAT !!!

I don't think it's so much the fact Syracuse should've got in because they play in the Big East (I believe the ACC and SEC are both better from top to bottom). I think it's the fact that they finished over Villanova in the Big East and beat Marquette as well as Villanova (and in the 2nd meeting with Villanova only lost by 3).

The unfortunate thing which seems to be a trend among Big East teams, is that they don't play very tough non-conference schedules because of the size of their conference and that whack scheduling they put teams through in that conference. It's what hurt Louisville last year when they missed the tournament. In the Big East only one team had a non-conference RPI in the Top 20. Both the ACC and SEC had 3 teams in each conference that had a non-conference RPI in the top 20. The average strength of schedule for Big East teams was 84, for the ACC and SEC it was 55. That's tough when you're a team on the bubble because it's those numbers they look at.

I think what was the nail in the coffin for the Orangemen was the fact that they ranked 122 in strength of schedule and 79th in the RPI. The committee looks at that when it comes down between one team and another. Had they had a better run in the Big East tournament they could've sealed a bid. But going out early cost them big time.

I'm not saying that it's right, because it's not. There were teams from their own conference that got it in before they should have. But when you don't win down the stretch it costs you.

I dont get it either....The Big Orange have been raped!! Stanford at 18-12...what a joke! Syracuse plays in what is argueably one of the toughest, if not the toughest conferences in college bball!! I definitely know they got this one wrong!! They probably would not have won but they deserve to be in the dance!!
