Dubai has the highest amount of construction going on, when compared with any other city in the world. You could get a job as laborer at the construction site or if you are a welder, carpenter, plumber or electrician or landscaper you could easily find a job with one of the construction or real estate development companies.

Dubai is currently undergoing the biggest construction boom ever seen in the world. The other beauty of working there is that your income is tax free in Dubai and in many cases in US dollars.

PS: depending on your citizenship, you may have to pay taxes to your country of descent/citizenship on all the income you earned, even if it was earned overseas. However, the United Arab Emirates does to tax income.

Looking for a job in Dubai can prove to be difficult, working in supermarkets, hotels or labour intensive jobs is perceived to be of very low status and is paid very poorly. You will earn around 25-50 pound a week and that is working full-time !!

My wife and I moved to Dubai over a year ago from the UK and finding the right job does take time.

You can try employment agencies like Kershaw Leonards but better still is the Gulf news job site. Most employers will however require you to be in Dubai at the time of application.

If you do find a job to suit you make sure you negotiate the pay as you are likely to be offered a small amount to begin with but you must demand higher.

GOOD LUCK !!
