Raising the driving age will save lives by reducing accidents.
16 year old drivers have 3 times more accidents that 18-19 year old's.

But honestly, it is experience and training not age that makes a good driver and the sooner you learn the better you will be.

Lots of websites to help you with your side of the debate.

Best of luck to you.

From your point of view:
People who are over 18 year old will be more suitable to drive as they are more mature and will be handle situations well if they met any out on the road, they won't be rash too. More over, they will most probably not get themselves into trouble by wanting to have fun by speeding. Someone over 18 year old won't have problem maintaining a car too as they won't be having much financial difficulties compare to those below 18 years old. One who is below 18 year old should concentrate on studies rather than involving in driving as there's always time for it, people won't call you an ancient creature nor a dino.

Opposition's point of view:
Teenagers below 18 years of age can drive too because if they were under parents' supervision, it's fine. (Reply: Teenagers nowadays are wild, so what if they have parents' supervision? They can't stop the teenagers if they were to speed and get into an accident).
It's better to learn early so that driving can be put to good use in future and they don;t have to waste time to learn it later. (Reply: There is always time for such things, would you prefer to have an immature teen to have drive on the road and endangered other drivers' lives or to have a mature and responsible driver?)

I think that's what i got to say, if the ans is bad den sorry.
PS: if it is only a debate among your class and if your teacher is lenient, i suggest u may fake out some statistics as it is rather difficult to find such statistics. (For example: According to statistics, teenagers between the age of 15-18 get themselves into trouble more often than those above 19 years old as they were less mature.)

Some ideas:
The legal driving age should be over 18 because people will be more matured by then and thus will be able be more careful and ethical on the road.

People under 18 should concentrate more on school rather than spend their time learning how to drive. A license will also allow them the convenience of transport to anywhere they please, and at that age, they are rebellious and adventurous, and thus are more likely to get involved in illegal racing and other dangerous, time-consuming activities.
