click on the search field, move the mouse over the one u want to delete, and press delete on your keyboard, works on internet explorer, but not firefox

www.ccleaner.com/ is good for that 2, you can clean alot of stuff with a touch of a button.

To clear search history (AutoComplete forms history) in Internet Explorer:
• Select "Tools" then "Internet Options".
• Open the "Content" tab.
• Click the "AutoComplete" button.
• Click the "Clear forms" button to clear all AutoComplete form data and/or click the "Clear Passwords" to delete restored passwords.

you could just delete the cookies... on the menu bar got to tools, then internet options, then delete cookies...
*note, this will delete ALL cookies. Cookies are what save usernames and passwords and record the sites that you've been to, which makes them load faster... so you can delete whatever it is you're trying to hide from whoever.
*note (again), this will not completely delete it from your computer, but will save it to an unknown location so that if you have ever had anything illegal on the computer it can still be tracked
