My last period was February 15th and I have about a 31 day cycle. My period is due the 18th. I have bought an early response test but I was wondering if it is too early to test now? I can't stand waiting to take one becuase I want to be pregnant so bad.

Take the test, if it is an early pregnancy test, and if it comes out negative then just wait a couple more days after you take the first one, because everyone is diferent on some women know right away and others don't find out til a couple weeks after it usually depends on your hormones -K-
Good Luck!!Hope that helped.

I got a positive result by using the Answer pregnancy test a full seven days before my period was due.

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

It depends on when you ovulated. If you can confirm ovulation, you can test about 14 days afterward w/ a fair expectation of accuracy. Some women have even had a positive HPT on the 9th day after ovulation, though that is pretty rare.

If you cannot confirm ovulation (by a thermal shift or cervical fluid dry up...OPKs do NOT confirm ovulation), you could try testing 5 days before your period is due. But b/c you don't know when you ovulated, you could be testing way too early.

It's hard to be patient, but it's also frustrating to get a negative uneccesarily. The best advice is just to wait it out. Good luck!

The early response test should list when you should be able to use the test with good accuracy. Most early response tests do require that you at least be past your expected first day of your period.
Your body starts to increase the hCG hormone levels immediately after you conceive, but the levels are so small that most home tests cannot detect them. A urine test at your doctor's office is the most reliable and earliest method of detecting a pregnancy, but I'm not sure if insurance pays for this convenience.
Make sure you read the directions carefully on the at home test and use it when you should. They ALWAYS work better first thing in the morning, since hormone levels are always higher in your urine then (since you usually don't go to the bathroom as frequently at night as you do during the day).
Much luck to you!

If it is an early test it should pick up the pregnancy hormone in your urine which is what it is testing for. This hormone is in your body as soon as you are pregnant but gets stronger with time and is usually strong enough to detect within 1 week of conception.

You can get a false negative but not a false positive with home tests.

Do the test I would and have in the past for peace of mind. If it is negative give it 3 days and try again.

Im in a similar position as you. Im due for my period on 15th. I have a test waiting at home but i'll wait a few days more and maybe test on the weekend, just in case it arrives late due to stress, fatigue etc. I wish you all the best and get the result you are after! :)

Being that it is only a month since your last period I would wait until you miss another period. My doctors' always told me to wait until then before coming in for my exam. Then there is no mistaking. I hope this answer helps. If you can't wait, by all means try your pregnancy test.

It is probably too early to test.....you could try one of the 5 day before your period is due, but if you are pregnant it might not show up.....

I hope that you get the results you want...good luck....

You should wait at least a week after you have missed your period! The hormone that the test picks up is not present until then
