I'm at 6 weeks (4 weeks actually pregnant) and I've felt a little bit nauseous twice, and I was wondering when your nausea set in so I can try to be ready for it. Please tell me if you're referring to weeks you're actually pregnant or the 40 week calendar where they include the 2 weeks when you're not pregnant yet. That whole thing kinda confuses me! Thanks!

Also, when people say how many weeks they are, are they usually including the two extra weeks like the doc does?

Yes, you are actually 2 weeks pregnant by the time you have missed your first period, so you are 6 weeks pregnant out of the 40 weeks that pregnancy typically lasts. I, personally, was lucky with my first two, and even now (I'm 8 weeks pregnant). I threw up once with my daughter in the first 6 weeks, I felt a little naseaus with my son, but never threw up, and I have only felt a little queasy within the last couple of weeks or so, but haven't thrown up yet. Usually by week 12, any "morning sickness" will be gone, but few have it for months. Good Luck to you.

I started having nausea about 4 weeks, and it ended at 12 weeks. Mine wasn't too bad as long as I moved slowly in the morning. (for about the first hour or so after I got up) I know some people get it and it never goes away 'til the baby is born.

And yes, you count the way the doctor does because that is when you ovulated. You go by the age of the egg, not by when it was fertilized.

I really recommend the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting". It's been around a while, but it got me through so much. When the doctor would tell me something I really didn't understand, I would go straight home and look it up in that book. Everything I needed to know was in there. Then once I read it, I would feel a lot more relaxed and confident.

Good luck with everything!

I started feeling really queasy about dinner time after about 2 weeks (actually pregnant). It is ok some days but god others I can't decide whether morning sickness or a hangover is worse. Luckily though I have yet to actually vomit. The whole thing about weeks is very confusing. Most people add the two extra weeks because they can't sure of conception. That would make me 7 weeks. But the ultrasound woman referred to me as 5 weeks. I assume it just depends. Often people will just follow what the dr says at the first ultra sound. ie. I am ?? weeks along. Sorry it does seem very confusing but in the end after your first ultrasound you should have a fairly good idea. Congratulations.

I got nauseaous and had morning sickness at the 10 weeks to the end of 11 or beginning of 12. So I really didn't have morning sickness long. Usually calenders very. Some include your lmp in there and some do not. I base mine off of what the doctors and ultrasound says.

20 weeks pregnant.

I only had nausea for the first 4 weeks for my daughter and the first 3 months for my son. Most nausua ends at the 12 week mark but there are around 10% of women who have it throughout pregnacy. Hopefully that wont be you.
You need to drink Ginger Ale and eat little crackers to feel better. Good luck and just be happy that nausea is a sign that the baby is growing. If it gets too intense consult your physican for some remedies.

Yep they are including the two extra weeks! Thats how its done here in Aus. My sister in law stardted feeling nausious about 6 weeks (4 weeks actually pregnant) and got continually worse until about 11 weeks. She is over the worst of it now but still cannot stomach some foods and cant stand to cook! Good Luck!

I was just about 4 weeks after conception when I started feeling nauseous. Keep crackers by your bed. Eat a few cracker before you even get out of bed. Saltine crackers work best. Always eat bland food while feeling nauseous. If you have questions regarding symptoms, I suggest www.webmd.com This website has helped me along. Gives you links to all the basic knowledge you need.

For now on, get used to referring to your pregnancy using the 40 week terms. Your doctor will, most literature about pregnancy will, and it will keep things simple. Even if you know when you conceived, it's still best to go by the date of your last menstrual cycle.

I got sick right away and didnt get better tell I was 4 months pregnant. It was really hard but I am better now. They say that if you are having a girl you get sick and if your having a boy you dont get as sick... well i guess it was true for me cause i am having a girl but thats an old wives tale.

I'm 4 weeks pregnant (40/wk calendar) & I'm already nausiated. It's midnight and I'm up eating saltines! My full-fleged m.s. didn't appear until 2 months with my 1st.

You may not get sick then if you're that far along. I got very sick almost immediately (several days) and it lasted until the fourth month. FYI, don't buy the preggie pops, they're a waste of money and are just like regular lollipops.
