How does a fax modem work?

I have an old 56k internal modem in my PC and now I need a fax machine. I have a phone line hooked up to the pc. How do I use the fax feature? How do I receive and send documents, where do I find the control panel for this? Its a DFM-562IS

First you have to find out whether the modem can do fax. If yes, there will be a program on the installation disk. Better make sure your settings are right or your phone will be ringing all day. To get info about your modem Google: dfm-562IS; you might even find all you want there.
