First off, in reference a few other answers to this question...if you've never heard of Colt Brennan you're not much of a College Football fan. The kid has already set most NCAA Quarterback Records. He holds the record for most touchdown passes in a season with 58 and also holds 18 other NCAA records. He led the nation in scoring and passing efficiency, finishing the regular season with a 182.8 rating, and completed 72.15% of his passes, the best mark in Division I-A. He's also a Heisman front runner for next year with Darren McFadden, Steve Slaton and Brian Brohm.
I think the only thing holding him back from winning the Heisman is the fact that he goes to Hawaii and not Arkansas or West Virginia. The one thing in his favor is that they can win their conference with Boise State losing Zabransky and several other players. If that's the case they could go undefeated and get in the BCS, which would definitely help him Heisman case. But then again most people suspected Brian Brohm from Louisville would be going to the NFL this year and he made a surprise decision to stay....and before his injury he was a Heisman contender.
I think the field for next year is wide open and Brennan definitely has a shot. Unfortunately the Heisman isn't about "the best college player in the nation". It's about the best player playing for a BCS contender. So he's going to need his team to step it up a notch to help.

Cole Brennan will not win the award for the simple fact that he plays in the WAC. If he was in a major conference like the SEC, Big 12, Big 10, or the Pac-10, and still had somewhat close to the same numbers that he had last year he would be a definite shoe-in for the award. But players that play against tougher competition and play for more prestigious programs will win it. John David Booty from USC, Mike Hart from Michigan, Darren McFadden from Arkansas, Colt McCoy from Texas all have a greater shot at the Heisman because they all play against the big-boys every week, not playing Boise St. one week, then playin Wyoming the next. He will make a decent run but will be defeated handily.

Its going to be harder for him because he doesn't play in a BCS conference. The Heisman voters are biased that way. He can definitely put up the numbers to be a Heisman contender but I think he will have to outshine the others in the Heisman race by a substantial margin. If he and Darren McFadden put up the exact same numbers they did last year, McFadden is going to get the Heisman, so Brennan really needs to make his senior year a season for the ages if he wants to take home the trophy.

Colt put himself on the map this year by peforming like he did.He has all his receivers returning and the only problem that he will run into is he lost 3 offensive lineman to the NFL this year. That is not good for his protection . One of those starters was Samson Satele who was his center.I'm a hug Hawaii fan but I don't think they will be as good as they were last year and that is why I don't believe Colt will win the Heisman.
If Hawaii somehow overachieves this year than he does have a shot at it. But McFadden is his biggest competition there and I think McFadden will be the eventual winne barring injury.

No, he plays for Hawaii. Darren McFadden from Arkansas will get the Heisman hands down next year if he has any type of season like he had this year.

Well, I would like to say yes but realistically, I don't think so. He has some things going against him. He really is a product of that spread system. Look what Tommie Chaing did there and where is he now? I like him but he also plays in a mid major conference and nobody gets to watch them out there in Hawaii.

It is very possible if he has another great season like last year. But he has plenty of competition from Chad Henne, Darren Mcfadden, John David Booty, and Ian Johnson.

That's a hard question having come SO early.
But I do see him having a very good chance if he produces a little better numbers than he did last year.
And if he doesn't win it, I think Colt McCoy has a good chance as well.
