i go to control panel > Regional and language options > languages and i try to install files for east asian languages. when i try to install the files, i get an error saying "windows setup could not copy the appropriate files".

what are some possible solutions to this problem?

im not sure if my original windows xp disk is needed or not, but i cannot find mine T.T. hopefully there is a solution not needing not.

I am pretty sure you will need a win xp disc to do it. Win XP doesn't install the Asian languages pack by default that's why you need the disc to install the pack. Borrow the disc from a friend to do it.

Yes, the disc is needed. Usually, when I got to a foreign language website, a popup will automatically ask me if I want to install the language pack. Click YES then it will tell you to put in the Operating System disc.
