Are China Trash cymbals not as "popular" as they once were?

I have a very old 18" china trash w/ a crack at the bell. Should I spend the ducats to have it repaired?

I personally find China cymbals useful only as an occasional accent sound. To me even the expensive ones sound like crap. If I were you, I would buy myself a sweet crash cymbal instead.
