"I think i'm gonna walk my bike down the hill." I asserted with confidence, as if this was an idea I'd cooked up out of logic rather than cowardice.
" Psshh, well i'm not that's gonna take forever." She replied seeing right through me.
We stared at eachother for a moment.
Finally Lindsay became understandably impatient and rolled her coffee eyes at me while pushing herself into motion.
"C'mon!" she called over her shoulder, which was getting smaller and smaller the longer I hesitated.
"Damn it, Lindsay." I muttered stepping down half heartedly onto my pedal towards what I was sure would be my death.
Soon I felt my wheels slip into a spin as I gripped my handle bars with a superfluous effort. Momentum allowed me to cascade by cars stuck in traffic and I smiIed in spite of them with the wind running a dozen invisible fingers through my hair. In seemingly no time at all I was slowing down again and meeting up with Lindsay who had been waiting for me.
"That was fun!" I exclaimed unclicking my helmet.
"See?" said Lindsay doing the same.
