In all honesty I do not like having the label (or target for trolls) of top contributor. I also do not like being in the Top 10 Answerers since it is another label and target for trolls. When I was #2 in the Top 10 Answerers I purposefully cut back on my answers in order to cause myself to drop down in the listing. I think that Yahoo should put more effort into stopping trolls who do wrong than giving meaningless labels to those who do right. I do not answer questions for meaningless points or unwanted and undesired attention; I answer questions in the hopes that I can help or assist another person through my life experiences or personal knowledge. Someone telling me that I was able to help them is worth so much more than a label or a few points from Yahoo.

Your question makes me wonder how much "top Contributor" is going to make me in dollars...is there a prize? Do I get discounted tickets on Airlines? At Hertz? Hmmmmm...just as I thought...completely worthless. Now why in the world would anyone who did not really want to help others waste so much time answering questions? In the future, why would you waste your time if you have nothing to say? Perhaps you should think about that and examine your goals in life. Just a thought

I don't think Yahoo! Answers would be half as addictive or take up so much of my time if the desire to earn points, go to the next level, and get titles like 'top contributor', if it wasn't set up that way.
However, I still love answering people's questions, entertaining, informing, educating, consulting, and helping people. I put a good amount of effort into my answers, I think, and my motivations are a combination of both wanting to be top contributor, and also wanting to have truly earned it, too.

No, I was saying I thought Yahoo was trying to put targets on people and before I knew it they done snuck up and stuck a target on me.
