they are trying to make you feel like they are in your living room, its called small talk, they do it with fake smiles also.

to fill in the time
sometimes stories get censored the filler must run under time
thus fill in till editor cuts
thats sort of how i write
but in trying to put back in that removed or cencored
evry body sees the joke
insert laugh track
god is good ,greater good.

It makes eveything more smoothe - well its supposed to :) - like transitions in an essay. Cheesy yes - corny yes - smoothe ?????
