Nicole Ritchie is mixed and she doesn't look it, now does she?

At two the pigmentation of the baby has been established. Generally within 12-14 months the skin color will change if there is any melanin that surfaces. As far as her hair, the change in hair color occurs within 8 months. Then there is another change in color of hair that most people don't notice around 6 years of age. The only time that is very noticeable is in Irish, Asian, Middle Eastern primarily. Most people never notice this change; it is more of a shade change than a total color change.

The fact that the father is black, and the lightness of the child depends on genetics as well as the mother's. It isn't all just daddy genes here. If the mother comes from Scandinavian or Swedish, French ancestry that may actually be more dominant the 'blackness' of the child in color.

If the father questions the paternity of his child he can have a DNA test done. But, frankly just because the child isn't the same shade as dad doesn't mean she isn't his, and more than likely he'll be throwing money away...but let him...just because I think that is a cop out for a man to deny his fatherhood due to the color of the child.

No matter what, this little girl sounds like she's going to be gorgeous. The last thing I'd worry about is what color she's going to be and start now cleaning shotguns, and saving on the phone bills, for proms the boys will sure be calling!

I have twomixed children and they come out all different shades. My son looks white, but with a little tan. He has straight light brown hair, and light brown eyes. My daughter looks real dark like her dad...with his very curly hair, and deep brown eyes. I would say that if she is already two then she will stay about the same that she is. She may darken a little each summer and lighten in the winter. Her father should realize that because she is half white she could look all white. My son does and I am definite who his daddy is.

I think mixed babies are Beautiful!! I have a lot of mixed friends, and some of them you would never know they had a black parent because their skin is so light!! Sometimes it just happens that way!! With the mix people I know and hang around there skin is really really light.. The dad should not say the baby may not be his just because he is light.. the baby cant help how light his skin is!! As far as the baby's skin getting darker.. You just have to wait and see.. every person is different!!! The hair color could easily change and become darker!

look at her fingertips and tips of her ears and if its darker than the rest of her body that's the color she will be. my sister had a baby with Grey eyes and really light skinned and her baby daddy is darker than her, shes black and her oldest child is too. so the skin complexion doesn't matter. the child could take after the grandparents, or the other parent. i have seen mixed kids with the nappiest hair and dark skin and with the finest hair and very light skin . the summer sun will darken her up eventually.

well when my cousin was born he looked like he was going to be black, but as he grew older he turned whiter and has blond hair and freckles just like his dad. His mom is a very dark black woman, they have another son who is dark skinned like his mother and it have been proved that they are both by the same daddy.

there was a couple that was mixed and they had twin girls. one was black (dark) the other was white with blond hair. It just depends on the genetic composition. Tell the dad to look at these pictures on the websites below. It happens.

Some of todays most happening models are those from mixed DNAs. They tend to have an "exotic" look. To me it would be one of the least thing i would worry about. The father needs to look at facial resemblance. It may still take a little more time. In the meantime, he needs to love her and give her all his best. He needs to remember when he gets old and feeble, it will be that little girl (not your sister) who will decide if he stays in a nursing home.

She probably won't ever change. My sisters bf has a cousin who married a black man. One of her daughters takes after her...blonde hair blue eyes light skin...his other daughter takes after him...brown hair, brown eyes and dark skin. It's so weird how it turned out. I know of another couple their children turned out the exact same way. One took after the mother and one took after the father.

not sure why I got a thumbs down for this

Only time will tell. Genetics plays out differently in different ppl. My children are part Asian, and the degree to which they look Asian changes as they grow. My son actually has red hair (I don't know where that came from LOL). The father should kick himself for doubting his wife. That's horrible!
