It's really best not to tell them, Sweetheart. Ignorance is bliss. And, what good would it do....I mean, really?
At their ages, the old guy could have a coronary and the ole gal could start with the hot flashes again. If you love them, don't do that to them.
Just explain that they look different because of some genetic/hereditary/skipping a generation kind of crap.

That's a toughie! Best to sit them down one evening, (After Apprentice so they dont keep trying to watch TV over your head), look them calmly in the eye and try explain it to them as best as possible. Oh there will be tears, accusations and most likely the cat will get tossed about a bit, but afterwards I'm sure things will all work out for the best!
(Or not and you're whole life will be destroyed, who can tell?!)
