I used to do pretty much the same thing. Then I realized that sport is just a form of entertainment and really has nothing to do on whether Im the alpha male or not. To this day I enjoy a good play just like anyone else but whether the team Im rooting for win or lose, really has nothing to do with who I am as a guy. You will be a much happier person if you realize this.

Its not normal. You do take it too seriously. For those that play the game do you see players doing the thing that you do? It doesn't matter if they are professional or not. Go to the local gym or baseball field, do you see players on the field whining about losing and getting upset? (Its called unsportsman like conduct). Come on man ~ be a good sport.
For me, when the Bears lost the Superbowl and during the game. I just walked out and did my chores around the house ~ even if it meant missing the 4th qtr.

Your not the only one. I'm a dodgers fan and I nearly broke my tv once when they gave up their five run lead in the ninth inning. I also scream and say profanities at the players (like there going to hear me right?) when I'm watching on tv. I've had people tell me to calm down because its just a game, but its not to me. I love my team and I hate seeing them lose.

Yes, you take it way too seriously. Don't feel bad, for it is common to do so. I think the Reds are an extension of your own ego. Chances are you feel pretty cocky when they are doing good. You probably need to examine your insecurities. They probably surface when the Reds are doing badly. I have had much the same problem with Nebraska Cornhusker football. But I put things in much better perspective today. I have ignored them for entire seasons. But it can be fun in perspective. I watch them in the present. But if I start making it too important, I turn it off.

I was the same way until one day my Mother asked me a question. "How much are they paying you to worry and carry on like this when they lose?"
