Mostly likely because about 80% of Cartoon Network cartoons are on an adult level, or are overly mind numbing. It might have a lot to do with the hype over that advertising bomb-scare thing for Adult Swim (Adult Swim and normal Cartoon Network are often confused together).
Also, you could just be watching too much TV, period!
You might try asking her yourself, though. She isn't your enemy. She's your loving mom who realizes that Cartoon Network isn't stimulating for your brain.

I think she thinks you watch too much "Cartoon Network" and she's limiting your exposure. Are you becoming a bit chunky? Think maybe she wants you to get out and play a little?
The best answer you can get is the one your Mom provides. Ask her. I'm sure she'll tell you all about it.

You need to give us some more details.
I would guess that maybe it's because she wants you to do other activities. Sitting in front of the television all the time is unhealthy.
Maybe she wants you to play outside, exercise, do chores, homework, just about anything.
Maybe she thinks some of the cartoons are not appropriate for your age level.
Ask her, and trust in her decision, it is probably for a very good reason.

depends on how old you are...
i'm 24 and my mom still stops me watching cartoon network :(
if you're 5-15 or so it's so that you concentrate on your studies and go out and play something...
if you're older than that then it's cos she's worried you might be a retard (as in my case)
btw family guy rocks..!!!

What is your age?
My son is 12+ and his mother also watch CN.
Many times, I also watch CN.
CN is not bad but excess of anything is bad.
School education is first and necessary and CN only in spare time and for less time.
I like Tom & Jerry. Jinnne and other programme of children. Last night, my son Ankur was preparing for exmas, I called him to watch sence from German games, Transtel etc. I view for 1 minute and went back.
Read more, watch more, learn more in your life.

Because your mother's parents might have stopped her to watch cartoons in the past. So she is doing same to you to take out her frustration..........lol.

She stops you from watching it late and night because "Adult Swim" comes on, and it shows cartoons for adults (Family guy, Futurama, Aqua Teen, etc).

if she not then you can see FtV behalf of cartoon network
to improve your knowledge
