As a Native woman I can give you some information on this.
Many tribes, including several where I live, know the owl as a messenger. Not just a regular messenger, a messenger of Big change, usually in the form of death (but not always). Many people believe when they dream of owl or see them repeatedly someone close to them will die. This is a good reason to fear the owl.

owl is a symbol for the unconscious. It usually represents wisdom and virtue, and your unconscious may be giving you important massages, so pay attention to the details in the dream. In the American Indian tradition, the owl is considered to be the eagle of the night. Dreaming about owls may indicate that changes are on the way. Superstition based dream interpretations suggest that dreaming about an owl is a negative omen, which indicates a reversal in good fortune.

Owl symbolizes clairvoyance, magic, wisdom, and night.
Your association with fear and nightmares indicates that the nature of owl is against you. Perhaps witchcraft or black magic is being used against you. Maybe you rely on sorcery or black arts when you should be praying and asking the Great Spirit for guidance. Befriend the darkness inside yourself. How are you being deceived? Keep your eye on your property and loved ones.

Some Indigenous cultures believe that Owls represent a coming death,. especially when one sees them in the daylight, or an owl flies into ones' home.
Good luck.

It could mean you feel stiffled and repreased, and you want to feel free, as in flying free, but you are too scared too let go of something, so you are holding on to something that you need to let go or let fly away.

I'm an Indian, and that has nothing to do with your blood; it means you have mental problems. See a psychologist.
