My lips used to be extremely chapped but now they are much better looking, but I have noticed that if I don't put on chapstick every hour or so, they get super chapped again. What should I do so I don't have to go through a chapstick a week? I currently cherry Chapstick. I used to use the black one, the moisturizer, then carmex, but now i stick to cherry chapstick. Am I physically addicted to chapstick??? How can I stop using it so often?

You need to let your lips breath I think! Maybe they forgot how to lubricate themselves! Google says------Takeaways: Chap Stick first entered the mainstream consumer market in the early 1970s
Chap Stick may have some addictive properties, but likely just requires constant reapplication
Carmex, Blistex, and Vaseline are Chap Stick's biggest competitors

You may need to see a dermetoligist, I had to once because my lips got chapped like all around them. They can give you certain creams to moisten your lips. Be sure not to lick your lips, that makes them so chapped. Use vaseline on them, it makes them really smooth, and I think it would last longer than chapstick. Plus if your using cherry, you may lick it off not even realizing it......

Use Burts Bees lip balm. You will never go back to regular chapstick again!

physically addicted lol maybe you need to drink more water/fluids. being dehydrated really chaps lips. next time when you feel your lips getting chapped drink about half a cup of water and it should get better ( works for me ) .. if it still doesn't work then maybe Chapped Lips Anonymous might be for you

Try drinking more water. My lips seem to get chapped more often when I'm a bit dehydrated.

i'd say this is more of a health issue, your lips are telling you that you dont drink enough water...get at least 10 cups a day. My preference of lip balms are the vaseline lines...and every week or so, try putting a light coat of vaseline (petroleum jelly) on your lips and use a clean toothbrush and lightly scrub it and leave it on for 20+minutes.

Try using one with SPF in it, like Blistex, Carmex, or Avon.
SPF 30 or more may be your best bet, it sounds as if you are HIGHLY sensitive.

Are you using a super hydration one? Oh try Blistex, that works really well, I used it when I had braces and my lips were really really chapped!
Good Luck! :-D

actually we have the same problem!
i think it has something to do with the heater. u noe, that kind of stuff releases really, really dry & warm air!
it didnt happen to me during summer cuz i didnt need the heater at home. my lips start to feel dry in fall, in which i started to turn the heat on!
