The easiest and most reliable way is to chart your fertility signs. The build up of fertile cervical fluid followed by a dry up pattern and a period w/in 2 weeks is a strong indication that you are ovulating. A basal body temperature pattern that shows a thermal shift can be used to confirm ovulation too and is a good cross check for the CF sign. To be really sure of your cycles, you should track both for at least a few cycles.

OPKs can detect the LH surge that preceeds ovulation. However, OPKs do NOT confirm ovulation. It's possible to have several LH surges that do NOT result in ovulation before the one that actually preceeds ovulation. I wouldn't use OPKs alone to track ovulation but only in conjuction w/ at least the BBT (but BOTH cervical fluid and BBT is best).

Not to make it sound gross, but most woman get a slight discharge when they are ovulating, sometimes enough to wear a panty liner. It's usually in the middle from when you ended your period and when you're gonna start again, but every women is different.

It depends. I get pains on either side of my lower abdomen, some women get headaches, others get sore breasts. In a 28 day cycle, it may be around the 14-16 day. It all depends on your cycle.. so start charting and good luck!
