I believe in unconditional love but only when it pertains to one's children. We put conditions on every other relationship we have, but our children can do anything and we will still love them. I don't believe in unconditional love when it comes to marriage, there are definite conditions that we both must adhere to, to maintain & nurture our love.

I haven't put conditions on my love for my husband. They are just there. There are conditions on love w/i a marriage. I love my husband as long as he treats me with respect, kindness, etc. I love him as long as he doesn;t cheat on me or break my heart.

It's easy to claim unconditional love if you have a perfect marriage(not sure if that exists), but what if your husband cheated on you tomorrow, and then did it again and again? I have a feeling that love would start to fade...not so unconditional anymore...is it?

I have unconditional love for my children and that is it. They could do anything imaginable and my love for them would not be altered. That's not to say that I wouldnt be hurt or disappointed. They are the loves of my life.

I absolutely agree with you. Unconditional love can only be for your children, and can extend to your family, but I don't believe it exists for marriage.

Its not love if its unconditional... this is love as how it is defined in the Bible :Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Our weakness hinders us from loving someone truly. Even with our children we set rules for them to follow. Humans are generally selfish and that is why its hard for us to love unconditionally.

I love a woman unconditionally and she is not a relative at all, it does exist its just that when it does most of the time the person who receives it never seems to notice or even care.

Why would you put conditions on love? My husband is the love of my life. No matter what, I know he loves me and I love him. In 22yrs., we have never said one ugly word to each other. Never have had to say we were sorry. Why, because we love each other without question. We don't say anything to be sorry for, because once its said you can't take it back. Never try to change your partner. Love them just the way they are.

Yeah to all, yet i might rather no longer complicated. It frustrates me how words won't be able to totally describe what love skill --- much less unconditional love. Pisces sunlight. Virgo Moon. Pisces Mercury. Aries Mars. Edit: I purely observed that "the guy" in my avatar sounds like he's examining my answer. Now how lots further do I might desire to zoom in for somebody to get who that's good? J/ok. incorrect Petrelli!
