Most start around 6 months but can not sit up without being put in a sitting position until 7-8 months. My kids pediatrician always said 5-9 months is normal.

I don't think your baby should ever sit alone....you should always be close by....hehe

OK...I have a 10-year-old, 7-year-old and 9-month-old. Sitting up, crawling, walking and talking all started at different times.. (9 month-old can't do the walking/talking thing yet, but the other two can't stop).

Crawling starts around 5-7 months, and then RAPIDLY progresses to scampering across the room. I know that 3 months can be a big range for something like this happening, but the youngest started very late (7.5 months), but he is flying now.

Different times for different kids. If your pediatrician isn't worried, you shouldn't worry either.

Enjoy the baby...

Around 6 months they start to sit without assistance.

Go to parentcenter.com for references on baby's growth.
