when can i put a normal filter in my 10 gal tank with my fry?
and when can i raise the amount of water i have them at?
they are 1 week and 2 days old and free swimming (of course)

Don't try a regular filter until they reach a size too large to fit through the mesh----they get nosy and will find a way to get trapped if they can it seems. You may now at this time raise the level of water by about 10%-20%

You can use a regular filter with your fry, put a sponge attachment on the intake and turn it to low, you can do this at any time, I prefer to keep a corner filter or sponge filter until they have colour. Raise the water when they start to have colour.

I use "have colour" as it is a very easy reference.
