I have an envision monitor and for a while the screen was pinching in doing the things it would be doing if it was going to die. That stopped and it would randomly go into power savings mode, I finally got some ambition and did some tests. Changed video cards the problem still occurred and even worse a poor refresh rate and it the picture was fuzzy. I have now tried a different monitor with the one video card and the problem still occurs. My thoughts on it are it could be the power supply or bad ram thats all i can think of now. If anyone has any idea why this would be happening any help would be appricated.

It's definitely your power supply try using higher wattages like 450 or 500. That happen tome too.

Ok, the issue you are having most likely has nothing to do with the PC itself.
If the image was "pinching" and other similar problems, and then going into power save mode. Then it is a problem with the monitor itself.
What you need to do is isolate the problem. Try a different monitor with your PC. Then try the envision monitor on a different PC. That way you can know for sure that it is the monitor.
You know, I went into my bathroom the other day and turned on the light. There was this bright flash of light and then the light bulb went dead. I thought it was my great-great-great uncle trying to tell me something, but then I remembered that's what light bulbs do when they go out.

Ram wont cause your monitor to act weird, more than likely its an old power supply.....If thats the case, you should replace it as soon as possible, when this type of hardware goes, it tends to fry everything attached to the computer.....I just went through that on a pc I built, and it even took out my monitor when it died!
I agree with Blake, could also be that the monitor is about to go out....

Just another couple of thoughts to try.
Sometimes it helps to make sure your video card is seated in the slot firmly. Check all your boards and RAM to make sure none are loose.
Some local hardware places will test your power supply for free. You have to take it out of your system, but that isn't that hard. A new powersupply will not cost that much if that is the problem.

I'm no computer expert but there are a few reasons that your monitor/computer might be doing that. Your first monitor might have been going kaput. however, what video card did you purchase to do your tests?
Modern video cards are power hungry little devices. If you could list your computer's specs as well I might be able to provide a better answer.

Now, this is just a theory, but have you ever considered it might be something supernatural? Has a loved one died recently? Because sometimes when a loved one dies, they try to say goodbye to you in some way... Like, for example, my mom told me when her grandma died, she went into her room to get one last look, and when she switched on the light switch, a blue flash of light brightened the entire room then the light bulb went out. But my point in telling you that was because it it usually something through electronics. That is one idea of what it might be... Did you recently move? Because another theory is that if you just moved into a new house, there could be a spirit there if no one you know has died. Sorry this is kind of a freaky answer, but if you've replaced the monitor then that's all I can think of!
Hope this helped!

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
